Most app agencies operate the same way. They'll sell you a dream in the pitch, hand you off to a junior team you've never met, then deliver something that looks fine in a demo but falls apart the moment real users touch it. By the time you realise what happened, you're out of money and out of options.
Jarrod Macfarlane saw this play out over and over while working at another app agency. Talented founders with genuine ideas, getting let down by a model that prioritises volume over outcomes. The founders who succeeded were the ones who happened to get the right team and the right advice. Everyone else was left to figure it out alone.
Rebelled was built to fix that. We work exclusively with non-technical founders building consumer apps. We keep the team small, the communication direct, and the focus on what actually matters: building something people want, then helping you grow it.
The team
Founder
Originally from New Zealand, based on the Gold Coast. Before starting Rebelled, Jarrod spent years building apps for fitness creators like Chontel Duncan, Claudia Dean, and Hannah Pearson at Appetiser. Deep experience across the Australian app development space, with a focus on consumer products that need to work at scale.
Product lead
Rebelled's first full-time hire. Alex owns the product side, making sure every feature decision connects back to the founder's business goals, not just a spec sheet. He's the bridge between what you want to build and what your users actually need.

Every project moves through three phases. Each one has a clear outcome, so you always know where you are and what comes next.

Strategy and design. We validate your idea, define your audience, map your features, and design the product before a single line of code gets written.

Development. Your app gets built sprint by sprint with regular check-ins. You see working software every two weeks, not a surprise at the end.

What we believe
The industry is full of bloated processes and safe decisions. We question defaults, cut the fat, and move with conviction. If everyone's doing it one way, that's usually the wrong way.
